generation of really weird names
apparently Gen-Xs like me back in our generations have a certain standard in english names......You would probably have a Kelvin, Benjamin, Vincent or Victor as a male classmate. For your female counterparts, a Jessica, Jennifer, Christina, Cheryl or Kelly would be quite common.....
others honourable mentions: Stephanie, Timothy, Martin, Frank, Leon, Aaron
For the ones with better tastes, you see a Kenneth here and there or an Aloysius.....lol
Gen-Ys' names doesn't differ a lot from the Gen-Xs. Probably the only difference is that, they (or even their parents) like to have a unique twist in a normal name by spelling them differently .....
Lynda (Linda)
Kristina (Christina)
Meghan (Megan)
Brendan (Brandon)
Ashlee (Ashley)
Rachael (Rachel)
Terrence (Terence)
Derryck (Derek)
and this new generation with the influx of MTV and what have you, you got the likes of
(these are the names when you go say HUH like seriously) - basically this is the generation with parents having the habit of naming their child after their idol or them trying to find some weird sounding names with meanings only Greeks understand
Giselle Lim
Talicia Sim
Destiny Ong
Beckham Ng (Pan Lingling's son)
Chantelle Tan
Emilyn (Linlin's pt) hehe
Kimberlyn - What's wrong with Emily or Kimberly?
and these can be seen most common in celebrities' babies
Suri Cruise
Shoila (sp? I have no idea how you spell that) - Angelina Jolie's
Brayden (Zoe Tay's)
Apple Martin (Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin)
Brooklyn and Romeo Beckham
I really want to put Dayan here but oh well....
and of course there will always be biblical names that stands out like
Barnabas
Ezekiel
Josiah
Delilah
Samson
Abraham
Micah
Jeremiah
Tabitha
For me my favourite will always be the Gen-Xs names.....full of originality(though not as original as the Gen-Zs) and something you know your kids won't hate you in the future for naming them that
