Medicine B-
Surgery B
Oral Pathology C+
Thank God for my results.........Though it might not look as spectacular, in dentistry I guess it is pretty decent. The fact that I almost nearly flung oral path and everything is really a big fiasco.... yr 3 is definitely a defining moment for me......I relied on God for almost everything in school cos everything seem so out of reach with my human hands......Thank you Jesus.......a big sigh of relieved.....

Pulau Redang @ Kuala Terengganu
Alright I am back from Redang after spending about 3 days over there.....Result was that I achieved an uneven tan with some areas of sunburn mainly at my scapula, lumbar/coccyx and my shoulder region.... and some abrasion issues at my axilla and nether regions......crap....All because of snorkelling.....but all in all it was a decent break from the monotony of Singapore and the sun was good........
In chronological order (if I can remember everything)
Day 1
- spent 10 hrs on a really really cold bus......then another 30 minutes to the resort's office and then another 1 hour travelling on a boat to the island....all that travelling reminded me of the time I had to travel to Raleigh....
- immediately we had to the some Survivor-esque jumping from the boat stunts...cos there was no jetty provided..I was like alright....I was in a gungho mood so that was pretty fine....and then the people there toss our luggage in this tractor where it was used to transport them to our 2 star accomodation(I refused to use the word resort)
- so we were introduced to our humble abode for the next 3 days and we saw really tan people....it was really hard to distinguish them between malays and chinese cos they are like what we say irreversibly tanned.....until they spoke of course....
- then we had lunch which reminded me of any homecook food (which is not really a compliment)
- and we had the highlight of the day......Snorkelling....it was my first time actually...so it was an experience with all the fishes and what not feasting on the bread on my hand....and also it was quite a hilarious time when the auntie kept pronouncing michelle chang as michael chang for 3 consecutive days....haha.....language was definitely quite a barrier...much a barrier than expected..
- after that we went strolling around the beach and while we were heading to the laguna resort, we saw some singaporean girls sporting some sports illustrated bikinis and I will just leave it as there........it was a funny sight...something I probably won't forget....
- blah blah blah....then we met up with the girls at our accomodation and we shared experiences, booze, entertainment in the form of Taboo and the funny antics of individuals......and sleep!
Day 2
- snorkelling for both in the morning and the afternoon as well....with "michael chang" and we went to this place called Marine Park where really it was like clear blue waters with many many fishes and corals and also many many people.....with bread and instant noodles and at the end of the day the whole area was pretty much polluted by the remnant food.....and I still cannot accept the fact that YH treated it as a latrine....bleargh....and we did see some sharks....
- Then I had the best tanning experience of my life.....while the guys are playing soccer....I went to a beach bed and just busked in the sun....with the breeze and the sound of the waves...and I think I slept and that was probably the answer to my sunburning result.....
- we had a nice dinner al fresco at summer point cos the food back at our accomodations just leave much to be desired......
- went back to Laguna resort for some entertainment.......and indeed there was entertainment...especially this Italian tourist who was drunk and the effeminate host......
- return to our accomodations with another round of booze and taboo and guy's talk....and sleep!
Day 3
- check out and went back to Kuala Terengganu.....and it was quite an eye opener.......place was actually not as developed as I had imagine....for e.g. cassettes were at sale instead of CDs.....the only decent shop was an Adidas shop in the middle of nowhere.....and Astaka which was deemed as the best complex was a big disappointment.....But at the end of the day, we had a nice dinner at this chinese eatery and head back to Singapore in the 10 hr long coach ride....
- there was this blind man trying to sell tissue papers on the bus before we were to set off and he suddenly gave a loud shriek while doing his routine after walking pass me because YH slammed the compartment door above our seats so loud that it kinda stunned him....and me and ZX was left laughing cos it was really a funny sight.....by no means we were laughing at the blind man just the incident that transpired.......was really comical....
- in the end...it was a good trip would have been better if we were accomodating at the resort....but oh well....I can handle that.....

pet peeve
I am kinda in a blogger block phase right now....not exactly knowing what to blog....until I made a call to the HP technical support hotline to enquire about my laptop problem...
You know what.....I think the automated operator is the most ridiculous dumb invention one could ever invent.....or came up with......What's wrong with putting a live human being over the phone immediately....especially where there is an option for me to talk to one when I press 9. It is obviously not a manpower issue......and why do you need to tell me the website to go to....Am I that dumb to not be able to look for that myself......sometimes I wonder inventions are more of a bane to the society.....
I hate the automated operator with a passion.......

it is finished!
It is finished! The 6 day third year BDS Professional examinations is finally over........it was another totally different experience........the bulk of the examinations is made up of some stupid component called OSCA and OSCE where we have to go around the wards and examine a patient and diagnose the patient's disease within less than 5 minutes with 2 pairs of eyes staring down at you......the last day we had to do about 10 of such stations and it was like a near death experience......It was really demoralising when the doctors had to prompt you so much and now I finally knew the reason why doctors look down on dentists.....Haha....cos we really looked incomptent.....and to think of all people....I spazzed out at the blood pressure station.....and diagnose a patient with Down's Syndrome when he looked perfectly fine.....Haha.....
Oral Pathology is another fiasco where I had failed 3 tests which they all bear weightage to the finals before the exams and totally messed up the practical exam leaving me with about 60% to fend for myself and it is actually the first time where I really thought I had to scrap through with a pass...
Everything is really crazy and wild......ended the day on saturday....with a splitting headache that lasted till the evening but once I went to church and dwell in the presence of God, everything was swell and to be able to have a connection to God again is a great feeling.....
well everything seems to be nearing a pass for me as of now....keeping my fingers crossed.

"Ladies, Gentlemen and Felicity"
stayed back at home to watch the oscars in the wee hours today.....The host Jon Stewart is actually pretty funny....one of the better few to host this show..
anyway....
best supporting actor - george clooney
best supporting actress - rachel weisz
best actor - philip seymour hoffman
best actress - reese witherspoon
best director - ang lee
best picture - CRASH!.......haha.....I think a lot of people thought brokeback mountain would win...from all the shock faces after the winner was announced....kinda expected it though knowing that the academy is quite old fashion and they prolly won't honored a gay cowboy movie for best picture
crash is still a good movie worth watching....dealing with racism etc....I still don't think it is best picture material....the movie just tries too hard.....

a break too many?
Alright back to blogging after a break after reading up on Langerhans cell histiocytosis.......been taking a lot of breaks these few days from studying and I shouldn't be doing all these lol ........
Church is organising a spelling bee competition and man......if only they allow tertiary students to enter....I would be able to win that 1K.....lol...... I mean seriously biology students will have the added advantage...... Cephalagia....Xerostomia....come on....I have been using all these terms in school....crap....
anyway I caught the tab TV show on channel 5 just now on china girls prostituting themselves in Geylang..... part of me sympathise with what they are doing but another part of me irks about it......some were charging $30 for an hour worth of sex. And little do I know how sleazy Geylang is after today.... I know it is but now I know even better......
peace.... and elliot will win american idol this season.....
